Derawan Whale Shark Tour 4 Days 3 Nights, Clustered in a small archipelago chain that lies in the Makassar Strait near the equator, between Borneo and Sulawesi are Derawan, Sangalaki, Maratua and Kakaban. The islands have environmental significance as the biggest nesting ground for green turtles in Indonesia.

Most dive sites are shallower than 20 meters with gently sloping reefs and shallow areas. The dive sites are famous for the large gathering of Manta Rays.

Kakaban Island has been declared a regional marine conservation area and an ecologist haven thanks to a uniqe lake teeming with jellyfish.

Whale Shark Derawan Tour

Day 1: Tarakan / Berau-Derawan (Dinner)

Pick-up at Juwata Tarakan Airport / Kalimarau Berau Airport. Head to Tarakan SDF Port (15 minutes by road) / Tanjung Batu Berau (2 hours 30 minutes by road). Head to Derawan by boat for 3 hours (via Tarakan) / 30 minutes (via Berau). Lodging check-in Free program: sunset hunting, playing watersport (banana boat), optional (optional). Dinner

Day 2: Talisayan (Whale Shark) – Manimbora Island – Labuan Cermin (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Morning Call 04:30 hours and preparation for Talisayan to see whale sharks if lucky. Go to Manimbora Island or Spongebob Island for breakfast and photos. Go to Labuan Cermin for swimming in very clear water and photographs. Return to Derawan and free program. Dinner

Day 3: Sangalaki – Kakaban – Maratua (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Breakfast and preparation for a full day trip. Visit Sangalaki to see sea turtles (hatchlings) and snorkel with manta if lucky. After that, visit Kakaban to snorkel with non-toxic jellyfish and snorkel at Kakaban Trench. Visit Maratua Island for snorkeling. Visit Gusung Sanggalau. Return to lodging and free program. Dinner.

Day 4: Derawan-Tarakan / Berau (Breakfast)

Breakfast and check out preparation. Delivery to Tarakan / Berau. Visiting Mangroves (Tarakan). Delivery to the airport and trip completed.
