During today’s tour we are going to visit two temples with both a different religious background; Buddhist and Hindu. The first temple we will visit during sunrise is the famous Borobudur Temple Tour. This Buddhist temple is the biggest in the world and is most beautiful early morning when the sun is coming up. When it is clear in the morning the sun will give an amazing glow on the temple and brings you in a different fairy tale world.

Activities

When you do not have the luck of a clear morning, don’t worry, even with the mist this temple will give you an unforgettable memory as it gives a magical feeling to wander around between the stupa’s in a foggy atmosphere. When we are finished visiting this temple we will have a quick coffee break with local snack before we proceed to our next destination. After around an hour drive we will arrive at a soft hiking trail which will lead you to our Hindu temple for today.

This small Hindu Temple is called Selogriyo and was build even before the Borobudur. The temple itself is after having visited the Borobudur not amazing, but the walk towards it is. The temple is located in a valley at the slopes many rice fields. Walking this trail we will pass villages where you can stop and have a chat with the locals and see how hard the work is to maintain these rice fields.  Learn more about the planting and harvesting process of rice and come back as an “expert” in rice fields. The trail is around 2 kilometers from the start and to be able to visit the temple, we need to climb around 200. After that the Sunrise Borobudur Selogriyo Temple tour is over.
