SUROLOYO PEAK

Peak of suroloyo is the highest peak of Menoreh Hills at the 1017 meter above sea level. This place is situated at beautiful scenery place in the border of Yogyakarta and Central Java. Located about 50 km from Yogyakarta at hamlet of Keceme, village of Gerbosari, sub-district of Samigaluh. Being on the summit of Suroloyo, visitors can enjoy Mt Merapi, Mt. Merbabu, Mt. Sindoro, Mt. Sumbing in the north side and city of Yogyakarta and Indian ocean in the south side. Suroloyo peak is best spot to enjoy sunrise and sunset with panoramic scenery of Menoreh.

The ritual of”Jamasan Pusaka” is always held every 1st Sura (Jv) in the “Sendang Kawidodaren” which is located in Suroloyo. KALIBIRU

Kalibiru is tourism village located in Hargowilis, Kokap in the altitude of 450 meters in the Menoreh Hills, Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. The area of Kalibiru was formerly a community forests which then initated by local community became community based tourism village. From the tree top of Kalibiru visitors can see the scenery of Menoreh and Sermo Reservoir and take beautiful photos. It is also popular for cool photo selfie. SERMO RESERVOIR

Sermo Reservoir is the only reservoir in Yogyakarta. Glagah beach has fairly extensive lagoons. In this place tourist can enjoy the beauty of the lagoon by boat. It is located in Kulon Progo, more than 40 kilometers from Yogyakarta city. It is  one of subterranian tourism objects located in Jatimulyo Village, Sub-district of Girimulyo in Menoreh Hills. It is 38 km from jogja and 21 km from Wates. The active cave has various ornaments of stalagmites and stalactites. Series of reliefs tells part of Ramayana story is artificially carved at gate of the cave. The facilities and infrastructure such as the camping area and joggin tracks area in Goa region Kiskendo keep to be improved so visitors can use it. SENDANGSONO

Is an open tourist place and a particular pilgrimage place for the Catholics devoting to Mother Mary. Sendangsono is “Lourdes of Indonesia”. May and October ae the most full of pilgrimage months. Sendangsono has beautiful and artistic architecture around greeny and cool environment.
