Starting your Mount Merapi Tour in the evening, makes it possible to enjoy an incredible sunrise at the top of the volcano. You will be picked up for your transfer to the base Camp (around 1 hour from Yogyakarta) before you start your climb up on the amazing Merapi.

Before we do the hiking, first of all after you are picked up, we will arrive at the administration at the base camp and short introduction with your guides (they will give you some guidelines during this trip) your hiking to Merapi can begin. Under very experienced guides you can hike to the top in the dark in around 5 hours approximately. Exploring Merapi in the dark gives you beautiful views from the lights of the villages in the valley. Quickly your attention will be needed for your hike all the way up to the top.

After a hiking up the hardest route path heading for peak in early morning 4.30 am, a stunning view awaits; sunrise with volcano backgrounds, beautiful view on the volcano Merbabu on the northern side, and looking down a green valley and hilly mountains, will give you a spectacular feeling.

You will then have a nice rest and snack at the top, and after that trek down back to the base camp through the tropical forest of Mt Merapi. This is the time to explore a little bit of the village around if it is possible before transferring you back to Yogyakarta. End of Tour Trekking Mount Merapi.

Notes :

Mount Merapi what to wear : warm clothes such as cotton pants (non denim or jeans material), sweater, polar jacket, wind breaker jacket, hand gloves, socks and good shoes. Mount Merapi Temperature can be cold between 0 – 10 degree on the night or summit.
