Java is a large island with many attractions. It is not always easy to determine which parts of Java you must visit. There are some factors you should consider:
How many days you have to travel;
Where are most interests in;
How is your physicall condition (some activities require good physical health) .
When traveling through Java, you must keep in mind that you are traveling a lot. Not all sites are close together. Therefore, we give advice to our customers that when they make a choice it is advised to plan rest days and try to ensure that you stay min 2 nights at one places if possible.
In addition, you can also think about, for example to skip the west part of Java and focus only on Yogyakarta area, or Yogyakarta and East Java.
We are often asked by people if we can organize a tour for Sumatra, Java and Bali, but they only have 2-2.5 weeks. We almost always respond with the advise to skip one island, because physically it is very heavy to visit all three islands in such a short time, but also traveling so quickly makes you miss the really nice and beautifull details which makes Indonesia so special. Therefore choose Sumatra – Java or Java – Bali for example. Why atleast Java?? …. Because Java, especially for people who travel to Indonesia for the first time, shows a very clear picture of Indonesia.
Below you can find some classic routes. These routes are showd to give you an idea how you could travel. Don’t forget that these are just examples and we are able to make a totally customised program.
For more information, I recommend you to follow the links at your left side, or go back to the information: West Java , Central Java , Yogyakarta , East Java. Here you can also find specific places that are not included in the standard sample itineraries below (for example Pacitan, or Krakatau).
