Ijen Crater / Kawah Ijen

Kawah Ijen or Ijen Crater is famous for tourist destination in East Java. Ijen plateau is a part of reserve that stretches northeast to Baluran National Park, was at one time a huge active crater, 134 sq km in area. Today, its quite active volcano and the landscape dominated by the volcanic cones of Ijen.

Some attractions you can see while you visiting Ijen are coffee plantation, rubber, cacao, and cloves also thermal pools and waterfall. But the crater itself is the most wanted attraction because it has rare phenomena of blue fire ijen.

Ijen Tour From Bali Itinerary

Day 01. Arrival in Bali Airport or pick up at your hotel – Mt Ijen area

Meet and greet with our staff at Bali airport or your hotel in Bali area. Then drive to Gilimanuk harbour for about 3,5 hours. Then cross to Java island with ferry boat for about 1 hours. Then check in hotel. Free program.

Day 02. Ijen Blue Fire

Morning call around 00.00 or 01.00 and leave for Ijen tour. Around 1 hour later we arrived at the Paltuding post and continue walking to the Ijen Crater area (Soft trekking). Arrive at Ijen Crater, if you are lucky you can watch the Blue Fire and sunrise. Enjoy the magnificent turqoise sulphur lake of Kawah Ijen which lies 2148 above sea level and is surrounded by the volcano sheer crater walls. You may see sulphur collectors hike up at this point. Return to Paltuding and leave Mt Ijen and visit the jagir waterfall coffee garden. Back to Banyuwangi hotel or Ketapang harbour or Bali or Surabaya airport for your next destination. End of Tour.
