The Borobudur is a temple you must visit when you bring a visit to Yogyakarta city. To enjoy this amazing temple at its best, come and visit it during Sunrise. After arrival at the Borobudur complex you will walk up to the higher levels of the temple, guided with a torch as it is still dark.  After a short while, you can enjoy an amazing scenery when the sun starts to get up. As soon the sun starts to rise, the Borobudur is covered by a mystical glow. But don’t worries, even when the weather is not so bright, you can still experience an unique atmosphere as the mist will be floating true the trees and stupa’s of this Buddhist temple. When the sun is up you get the opportunity to wander around at the Borobudur complex. As for the Sunrise you get a special ticket, you have the complex for yourself (with everyone who bought the special ticket) till around 6, when the main gates are opening for all public. Did you made enough pictures and you have seen the Complex, you can go for a coffee and snack at the restaurant (especially for those with a sunrise ticket, include) before we leave this beautiful temple behind.

After having explored the Borobudur Complex we are going to visit two smaller temples in the same area, called Pawon and Mendut. Next to Mendut you can also find a Buddhist monastery. After these the smaller temples we departure to another romantic spot not too far from the Borobudur. Our first visit will be the Borobudur Temple. The most interesting thing is you will see the temple during sunrise time, which is very magnificent. Your time here will be even better since in early morning it is less crowded, so you can enjoy the view with beautiful glow. After having walked around at the Borobudur Complex, we take a light snack and coffee or tea before we continue to our next stop.

The next destination will be at the Merapi Volcano Area. Slope of Merapi is quite wide so we can bring you to some destination around such as Ullen Sentalu. This museum has a private collection of art which tells you more about the Sultan family of Yogyakarta. After a guided tour trough this museum, we continue to the Prambanan Temple. After all finish here, the Borobudur Prambanan Merapi Trip will be continued to the Prambanan finally. This is a big Hindu Temple with an interesting legend story of how this temple is build. Not only that, this city is build up with many philosophies. One of the interesting legends about Jogja is Imaginary Line.

Trip Information

The line draws over Mount Merapi which is standing symbol for the house of the gods, all the way to Parangtritis beach as the Palace of the Queen of south, also called Queen Kidul. Between these two elements as the north and south pole, the line crosses straight true the Tugu Monument and the Sultan Palace. By building these two important places, the Sultan Palace also called Kraton and the Tugu monument, Sultan wanted to show his people how strong his relationship was (till now still is) with the spirits of Merapi Volcano and Parangtritis Beach.

D1. Ullen Sentalu – Prambanan – Jogja At night (L)

Arrival at Yogyakarta airport you will meet our staff. After the introduction you will start straight with your tour by visiting the Ullen Sentalu Museum, the best art and culture museum in town. This museum has a private collection which tells you more about the Sultan Family. Then we continue to Prambanan Temple.

Back to town for check in at the hotel.  After cleaning up we bring you to enjoy night time in the city center. Visit Malioboro and shopping.  Back to the hotel. Free program. Lunch and dinner will be provided at local restaurants.

D2. Tugu – Keraton – Tamansari – Pantai Parangtritis (B, L)

After breakfast we take you for a City tour. We start at the Tugu monument which is standing symbol for Yogyakarta. We continue by becak / rickshaw, a traditional way of transport which bring you to the the Sultan Palace, also called Kraton. Here you will have guided tour inside the Palace. Followed by a visit to the Taman Sari in which we can see the water castle of the Sultan’s and his wives. There are bathing places, pools, and historical places in this water castle. Last visit will be to the most South element of this tour and house of Queen Kidul, Parangtritis Beach. Lunch and dinner will be provided at local restaurants.

D3. Imogiri – Jurang Tembelan – Pinus Pengger – Transfer Out (B,L)
